It's that time of year where I ask myself why I don't get paid to forecast the weather because I'd probably be just as good at it.
Currently, the state of WI - and apparently the whole Midwest - is under a winter storm warning of blizzard proportions.
My first thought - yeah right!
Then, at about 8am when I got woke up for a delivery, the weathermen were getting redeemed as I saw huge flakes of snow start to fall. I was still tired and feeling pretty good - as in very little pain for the first time in weeks - I decided I would head back to bed because I was still tired and figured I wouldn't be able to do the stuff I wanted to do anyway. So I went back to bed for a couple of hours.
By the time I woke up at noon, the snow stopped falling, and what little there was had been blown in other places. We got a light dusting, a half-inch or less. For it being 6:15pm Central time zone, it's still pretty light out, considering.
The sky looks gray, and while cold, I didn't get the feeling of air thick with water. What I felt when I stepped outside just now is that there is a storm coming, but whether it actually dumps snow is another story.
I have my doubts because my bones stopped aching. If they were still aching, I could rationalize the pain to the coming storm, but because the majority of pain has actually left my body, I'm inclined to think that the storm will lose a lot of its bluster by the time it does hit us.
That doesn't mean other areas won't get snow. I'm just stating that, with the way my bones feel right now, I believe that the storm won't be as strong as they're predicting. At least in my area.
It is humorous because some of the local stations were saying that it was going to start by mid day and that people should leave work at noon to beat the storm. My husband left work and came home at the normal time. He asked, "Where's the snow?"
We'll see. Maybe the snow is still in the sky. Maybe this is just another windy storm that doesn't come with snow. Who knows? The weather forecasters sure don't.
